Videophile II - Set options in ....

In Videophile II you can set options for various funtions.
How can you do this ?

  1. Select the menu "[Tools] / Options...."

  2. Select the correct tab

    • Main Options tab

      • "Interface"

      • "Miscellaneous"
        • Report problems during playlist playback
        • Compact Database when closing Library
        • Delete files to Recycle Bin
        • Show Tip of the Day at Start-up

      • "Memory Management for Thumbnails"

        • 1 Load allAll Thumbs are loaded with the Library: Slower Library load and max memory used but best performance
        • 2 Load Incrementally: Loads thumbnails as they are needed and once loaded, doesn't dicard them: Fast library load and performance gets better during the session
        • 3 Load On Demand: Loads thumbnails as they are needed and then disicards them: Fast library load, slowest performance, least memory utilisation.

      • "Main PLayer"

        • 1 Videophile Full-screen player: When playing clips/movies in full screen mode, the Videophile II build in player is used.
        • 2 User's Default Player: When playing clips/movies in full screen mode, the in Windows associated media player is used. Here you can have different players. When normally playing WMV files in Windows Media PLayer, its Windows Media PLayer that is going to start here ....

This option determines, when a clip is played in full screen mode, wich media player is to be used

    • External Apps tab

Right click in Videophile II gives you the oportunity to handle the selected item with an external application.
Example you can add/configure "Windows Media Player" as an external application and then open the selected movie/clip with it via a simple right click.

    • Poster Settings tab

One of the most amazing things you can do is creating file posters.
This feature replace the use of external applications like Image Grabber II, Media PLayer Classic and others like that.
With this tab you can change/set the looks of your poster.

The fields : Thumbnail Width, Thumbnail Height, Vertical spacing and Horizontal spacing determines the dimensions of each frame taken en the location on the picture.
The numbers indicated for those fields are pixels.

      The fields :

      • Filename
      • File size
      • Duration
      • Dimensions
      • Bitrate
      • Frame rate
      • Tags

Those are thee infos you can chose to be displayed in the "File info area".

The color for "field label" and the proper "values" can be changed too.
Just click the colored tect in the option box.
This dialogue will be displayed :

      As an example :
Those are the settings for the file posters to create :

This is the file poster created with those settings :

      Note :

      • Every file poster you make is automaticly saved in the directory "C:\Program Files\Videophile II\Temp\"
      • File posters get the same name as the clip/movie they are taken from.

    • Library Info tab

Displays some interesting library info :

      • Location of the current open library.
      • The name of the current open libray.
      • Number of records in the library.
      • Overview of the file storage devices
      • Number of used TAG
      • Number of used Categories
      • Number of files in the "Untagged" category
      • Number of files determined as "Unplayable"
      • Total playing time

  3. Click the button when finished changing the settings.
